I love San Diego, California! I was fortunate enough to have a shoot there this summer with an adorable couple (you may have seen the posting of their mini-shoot last year). It was their 5th wedding anniversary and they threw a fantastic party to celebrate with their family and friends. They had a renewal of vows on the ship they chartered for the celebration. This was a very special occasion for them both, as they had originally eloped in South Korea. I loved the romantic feel of it all and hopefully you can tell how special this day was for them.

LUCK O' THE IRISH

We received a three-leaf clover plant as a gift for St. Patrick's day two years ago from my husband's Aunt. I put the plant in my daughter Ana's room. There it's been, growing year round. Two months ago the plant died, I believe it was too close too the window and the cold got to it . . . or so I thought. She had faith it would grow back and kept watering it. About ten days ago, a sprout came through the dirt! Today, at 7:00am Ana comes running to tell me something, she was very excited! A four-leaf clover had grown overnight. She went to school elated that she was the luckiest girl on St. Patrick's Day!

VANCOUVER 2010 WINTER OLYMPIC TRIP

Well, the 2010 Winter Olympics are finished. We watched the closing ceremonies last night on television with most of the world, and reminisced about our trip. Amazing, it seems like we were there yesterday. We had a wonderful time! Watching our friend Torin Koos on the Olympic Cross-Country track in Whistler was so exciting, getting first row tickets to the Women's USA vs. Russia Hockey game and watching USA win 13-0, walking every square inch of Vancouver,BC (just about), and visiting with great friends. Here are some pictures from the trip, unfortunately I can't post any pictures of the athletes (and I took a lot of them!), so enjoy a brief view of my trip to the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics:

The Olympic Cauldron, there was a fence surrounding it for safety reasons, and there was a slit cut in the middle of the fence so you could stick your camera through, so this is as close as we got.

The streets of Vancouver downtown were always lively and fun!

One of the streets in downtown was dedicated to light sculptures. I really liked this "light forrest".

We visited the Vancouver Mint where they were housing all of the Olympic medals, but unfortunately we were not allowed to view them.

My daughter was incredibly lucky to be handed a puck after the teams practiced! One of the volunteer workers there said he had been working for two weeks and didn't have a puck! She was SO excited to get it, she went bright red!

So, what happens when you are thoroughly and utterly exhausted but happy at the same time?
This is what happens:

This past week, I had the opportunity to attend the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, BC. We attended an event that our friend Torin Koos, USA Cross-Country Team, was in and he did a fantastic job - GO TORIN! We also attended a Women's Hockey USA vs. Russia game (USA won 13-0). Unfortunately because of Olympic IOC copyrights, I am not able to post a LOT of my photos, so I'll have a posting of some of them soon . . . it was so much fun!

VOLUNTEERING

Disney has a great Give & Get program this year. My husband, daughter, and I volunteered and made blankets for Karing Kids in Utah, it was so fun! Voluteering is wonderful and I think Disney has made a great incentive! Check it out: you can get a free ticket to a Disney park in return for volunteering ONCE, or you can donate your ticket, that you receive for volunteering, to a charity and help someone less fortunate go to Disney! I had the great opportunity of working with two adorable little girls for a POSH Lily product shoot. We were in downtown Salt Lake in October, and unfortunately, it was not the warmest day. Scenic Saturday

This last Saturday we had a change of plans and ended up doing something random. I had never been to Antelope Island, so my husband drove my little family out there to see it. After our return we attended a BBQ (delicious food, yum) and while talking to one of our friends, he questioned why anyone in their right mind would spend a Saturday there. After I mentioned that it was my first trip, he then asked - "Understood, but, would you go again?" I completely understand his question. We didn't dare go for a swim (which we promise we will do someday), the air smelled of dead seafood the entire time, there were a ton of bugs, and there seemed to be not much to do. But . . . As a photographer it's my nature to love scenery. So, YES, I would go back! I want to hike to the peak, bike around the trails, watch the sunset or sunrise, and photograph every square inch of it. (these photos were taken with my husbands camera, not as sharp as I would want them to be, so please forgive...)

Summer is officially over for my oldest daughter Aariana. Today was her first day in 3rd Grade. She was so excited and nervous she barely slept a wink last night! She picked out her outfit by herself this year, head to toe, and I must say: she has style. She looked so cute . . . of course I had to snap a few pics!
